Stage Door ‘Three Piece’ Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2018

Fruit for the blend was taken from 3 single vineyard sites across the Barossa region. The Grenache was sourced from Dan Falkenberg’s family vineyard (2018 Barossa Viticulturist of the Year) in the Barossa Valley, the Shiraz from the Avon Brae vineyard in the Eden Valley, and the Mataro from a vineyard near Moculta in the Barossa Valley.

“94 points + Special Value”

“A 60/25/15% blend from two vineyards, one in the Eden  Valley, the other Barossa Valley, open-fermented, 7 days on skins, matured separately in French barriques (10% new). Given the chaos of the vintage (rapid development of all varieties), this is a great result. The structure and texture are firm, the red and purple fruit flavours not cooked, the palate long and very well balanced.”
