Ricca Terra ‘Soldiers’ Land’ 90 Year Old Vines Grenache 2019

The release of the Ricca Terra ‘Soldiers’ Land’ is a proud moment in the company’s history.  This wine is made from 90-year-old vines that were planted under the Soldier Settlement Scheme.

This wine has two purposes: the first is to acknowledge and hopefully preserve the remaining old vineyards located in the Riverland (planted by returning soldiers but unfortunately many have been removed for economic reasons); the second purpose is to provide ongoing funding to the Returned & Services League (RSL).

The Ricca Terra Soldiers’ Land has the opportunity of protecting the future by investing in the Returned & Services League (South Australia), who play an important role preserving the legacy and looking after the men and women, and their families, who make up South Australia’s armed services.  Part proceeds from the sale of Soldiers’ Land will be donated to the Returned & Services League (South Australia).

Reviews & Awards

“95 points, Exceptional + Special Value”

“90yo vines, hand-pruned and hand-picked, wild yeast-open fermented, matured in 3yo barrels. Generosity and a strongly held belief and regard for history are the cream on the cake for this very good wine.”
James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2021
