ARCHER-Heathcote-Shiraz-2011-Mike-Bennie-TheWineFront-91points-Sante-Wines-Melbourne-Victoria-Tasmania91 points “Produced by wine writer Nick Stock sourcing from a single vineyard in Heathcote. The wine gets some whole bunch work and ferments in smaller, open pots. Separate parcels from varying parts of the vineyard are blended for ‘more complexity’. This wine has been produced since 2005.

Vibrant expression of Heathcote here – has a cherry pip meets red currant fruitiness, big dusting of savoury spice, fine, sandy tannins and finishes with a curl of dried herbs and amaro-like acidity. It’s light on, as the vintage may have presented, but feels really refreshing; it’s a different incarnation of the wine and the region, but it retains interest and drinkability. Totally smashable. ”
