Swift Sparkling Cuvée Brut Chardonnay Pinot Noir (by Printhie) NV

This is the entry to the Swift portfolio. A non-vintage wine blended using 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. A 30% non-vintage reserve portion is utilised to offer consistency to each Cuvée. The Chardonnay fruit dominates the palate with a nice strawberry richness to finish. 5 years of bottle lees aging.

“95 points”

“From the Bantry Grove vineyard, 1000m above sea-level, this is a blend of 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir with a dose of 7g/l, fermented with the traditional method and a dash of older wood. The base is constituted with fruit from ’13 having spent 4 years on tirage. The result is filigreed and fresh, with a leesy depth and fine detail across delicate mousse, Granny Smith apple and citrus notes. The mineral quotient drives the finish long and palpably very dry. Exceptional.”
Ned Goodwin MW, Halliday Wine Companion 2020

Tyson Stelzer’s Australian Sparkling Wine Report 2017 + 2018

“Top Australian Sparkling Wines”

“(…) It starts with a fine nose, showing ripe apple and nice complexity, plus a hint of aldehyde.  Lacey thought the flavours were “rich, honeyed and mouth-filling, with a pithy texture”.

That texture adds to the dry finish but there’s deft use of dosage to match it and the length is good. I loved its depth of flavour and balance. It was the best wine of show at the recent Orange Wine Show.”
Nick Bulleid MW, Gourmet Traveller Wine, December 2018/January 2019
