Ingram Rd Chardonnay 2015

The Ingram Rd breed of Chardonnay, made by Helen’s Hill Estate, is exciting, fresh, zesty and truly does the great grape variety known as Chardonnay justice.  Gone are the days when you need a knife and fork to drink Chardonnay.  Now, Ingram Rd Chardonnay is being made to reflect the subtle and complex fruit structure of this variety whilst maintaining a clean fresh finish on the palate.

Ingram Rd Chardonnay is not like most inexpensive Chardonnays.  Firstly it is made from Helen’s Hill Estate’s cool climate Yarra Valley Estate fruit, secondly small parcels are hand-picked at harvest based on fruit flavours, thirdly it is 100% French oak fermented and matured and finally, 100% ‘wild’ fermentation is utilised during the primary fermentation stage.  This is a ‘hands on’ approach, much of which relies on Mother Nature ensures that the fresh, complex, high quality Chardonnay fruit ends up in the bottle.

For those that think that they do not like Chardonnay, Ingram Rd Chardonnay will open your taste buds up to the complex delights of what this great variety can taste like.

Tasting notes – 2015 vintage

Reviews & Awards

“91 points, Special Value” (2014 vintage)

“Runs light, or lean, and elegant for the most part but then blossoms through the finish. Lemon, white peach and lactose notes do most of the talking. Still building.”
James Halliday’s Wine Companion 2016

“(…) stylish and refreshing.” (2014 vintage)

“Elegant style of chardonnay out of Helens Hill/Ingram Rd.  It’s still building. It’s all lactose, citrus and white peach for now and while the flavours themselves may stay the same, more flesh is likely to build in the bottle over the next year or two.  Quality is very good. For now, it’s both stylish and refreshing.”
Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front, January 2015

Helen’s Hill Estate: “One of the Best Wineries of the Regions, 5 red stars”

James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2015 – 2016
