Wairau Hills is a premium Marlborough producer, using quality fruit and traditional winemaking techniques to produce wines that capture the essence of Marlborough’s vibrant, elegant wines with style. These wines are produced from vineyards in the Wairau Valley the central grape growing region of Marlborough. These wine have been crafted for Wairau Hills by internationally renowned winemaker Alan McCorkindale.
Alan McCorkindale Widely regarded as one of New Zealand’s leading winemakers, Alan McCorkindale has thirty-two years of winemaking experience, creating wines from New Zealand’s cool climate South Island wine regions. Alan has winemaking experience in Burgundy, Champagne, Alsace, the Rheingau, the Hunter Valley and Tasmania. Alan is also actively involved in his consultancy business offering mentoring, wine production and wine marketing advice to New Zealand and international producers. Alan has a long list of trophy successes in the Air New Zealand Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge in London.
