Erath Winery

Light and zippy Pinot Noir

Willamette Valley, Oregon
www.erath.com

Erath wines are an expression of the land that the winery has cultivated for more than 40 years, longer than any other winery in the Dundee Hills of Oregon. The red, iron-rich Jory soils, combined with gentle breezes and warming sunshine of a marine climate, have bestowed upon Dundee a terroir of note. It has given rise to the handcrafting phenomenon, and the art of Pinot.

Erath ‘Willamette Valley’ Pinot Noir

(2009 vintage)
"Light and clean, this is a gentle take on Pinot Noir, comparable to a modest Bourgogne from a big shipper such as Bouchard. The alcohol rests comfortably at 13.5%, and the wine is done in a fruit-forward, drink-now style that fits the price point."
Wine Enthusiast, July 2011

"Light and fragrant, this is zippy with raspberry and cherry fruit, finishing on a floral note."
Wine Spectator, July 2011

(2009 vintage)
"(..). Since the founding of the winery in the 1970s, wines under the Erath label have always been among the best value-for-quality bottlings in Oregon. Look for aromas of raspberry tart, citrus and orchard blossoms with notes of smoky mineral and vanilla. The palate is juicy with flavors of cherry and pomegranate – a medium-light example that pairs well with salmon and other lighter fare."
