The flavour of Spain.
The Ribera del Duero appellation is blessed with a combination of terroir, microclimate and the native Tempranillo grape that gives superb, complex red wines like the Aventino Tempranillo DO.
At an average altitude of over 800m, Tempranillo (known locally as Tinta del País or Tinto Fino) grows thin-skinned fruit with refreshing acidity, which in turn produces wines that are delicious when they are young but also have the capacity to age magnificentally. Aventino Tempranillo is made from 100% Tinta del Pais from vineyards that were planted between 60 and 120 years ago, with an average age of 80 years. Low yield vineyards, careful handling and temperature controlled fermentation and maceration has resulted in a strong collection of modern fruit forward red wines.
